Taco Bell’s Double Decker Taco is back for 20 days only

Thanks to public pressure, Taco Bell is reviving an oldie but tasty treat for a limited time.

On October 10, the Double Decker Taco returns nationwide to satisfy double-layered cravings. But in typical Taco Bell fashion, the menu item will be here today and gone tomorrow—October 30, to be exact.

The Double Decker Taco was first introduced in 1995 as a limited-time offering before becoming a permanent menu item in 2006. It consists of a bean-filled tortilla wrapped around a taco shell and filled with seasoned beef, lettuce and shredded cheddar cheese. Customers can also opt for the Double Decker Taco Supreme, which adds diced tomatoes and reduced-fat sour cream to the mix.

Taco Bell last brought back the Double Decker Taco in December 2023 for a limited time. After the item lost a 2022 Enchirito election, people on social media pressured Taco Bell to revive the item anyway.

This year the Double Decker Taco is $2, which is 99 cents cheaper than last year. The Double Decker Taco Supreme is now $2.69, which is $1 less than its 2023 price.

Taco Bell has a notoriously passionate fan base that has successfully pushed for the return of some items, such as the Beefy Crunch Burrito and Mexican pizza. Fans have been taking to social media all year long to advocate for the return of the Double Decker Taco.

“Bring back the Double Decker Taco you cowards,” one X user wrote – and it looks like Taco Bell saw through their bluff.
