In July 2016, Gloucester City Police were alerted to an unresponsive child. The baby, AS, was taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where it was determined he had suffered serious injuries, authorities said.

There were also signs that AS was sexually abused.

AS was pronounced dead two days later. Her death was ruled a homicide caused by blunt force trauma.

After the attack, Disporto repeatedly convinced his girlfriend not to take their baby to the hospital and even threatened to leave her if he did, authorities said.

The baby’s mother, Amber Bobo, eventually called police to her home in Gloucester City.

Bobo was charged with second-degree endangering the welfare of a child for neglecting AK’s medical care. She took a plea deal and was sentenced to three years in prison in 2017.
