Man convicted in fatal crash in Appleton

A man has been convicted in a fatal crash in Appleton.

FOX11 reports that 57-year-old Jeffery Wolfe was convicted in the Nov. 22 accidentnd2022, on I-41.

Yesterday (October 10th)Th) Wolfe pleaded guilty to murder by negligent operation of a vehicle and reckless driving resulting in serious bodily injury.

Wolfe claims he turned around to answer a question from his wife about what distracted him from the traffic jam on the highway.

The Wisconsin State Patrol also said Wolfe crashed at 70 mph and did not slow down until impact.

The maximum sentence for his crimes could be more than 13 years; However, the prosecution and defense are said to have made a joint recommendation for three years in prison.

He is due back in court for sentencing on December 2ndnd.
