Medical helicopters called to the Knox Co. coal mine

KNOX CO., Ind. (WFIE) – We are working to get more information about a possible coal mine accident in Knox County.

According to reports from our NBC affiliate WTWO, the call came in early Friday morning at the Sunrise Coal Mine.

This is outside of Bruceville.

Dispatchers said people were injured, but they did not say how many or how seriously they were injured.

At least two medical helicopters were also called to the scene, according to WTWO.
