Hatfield woman injured in utility pole crash on Allentown Road Wednesday morning, no charges filed

Franconia Township police reported Thursday that a 79-year-old Hatfield woman was injured after she crashed a 2012 Honda Accord into a utility pole at 192 Allentown Road at 10:38 a.m. Wednesday.

According to police, the driver complained of chest and arm pain and was taken to Grand View Hospital by VMSC Emergency Medical Services for treatment.

A passenger in the car, a 53-year-old woman from Harleysville, was not injured, according to police.

Police said the Hatfield driver was traveling north on Allentown Road and entered the southbound lane of Allentown Road for an unknown reason. The car left the road and hit the pole, police said.

Police closed southbound Allentown Road to investigate the scene and reopened the roadway at 11:25 a.m., police said.

Franconia Police were assisted at the scene by VMSC and Perseverance Fire Co., as well as Perseverance Fire Police.

No charges will be filed, police said.
