Stacey Dillard, suspect in fatal traffic accident, charged in court

The accident was reported in May 2024. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, Stacey Raynard Dillard Sr., sideswiped the victim, Christopher Taylor, with his car on northbound I-75 north of Bay Creek Road in Erie Township, while Taylor was on his motorcycle. Taylor was killed in the collision. Dillard was taken to the hospital that night to recover from injuries sustained in the accident.

The investigation recently gathered enough evidence that Dillard was taken into custody by the US Marshals Service on Wednesday, October 2nd and booked into the Lucas County Jail in Toledo, Ohio. He was later transported back to Monroe County and lodged in the Monroe County Jail pending his arraignment. Bail was set at $500,000 on charges of driving under the influence resulting in death and driving while his license was revoked resulting in death.

Dillard is scheduled to appear in court for a probable cause hearing on Oct. 16.
