Tragic video! Man with child dies of electrocution during Bathukamma celebrations in Warangal in Telangana

In a tragic incident, a man lost his life after he accidentally came into contact with live wires during the ongoing Bathukamma festival celebrations at Warangal in Telangana.

The deceased, identified as Kadham Yakayya (45), was holding a child in his arms when he touched the electrical wires that had been put up as part of the festival decorations. Miraculously, however, the child survived without injuries.

Yakayya reportedly tried to walk under the lights, unaware of the exposed electrical wiring. The tragic moment was captured on a car’s dashcam and showed Yakayya unknowingly touching the wires, resulting in a fatal electrocution.

Footage also showed two men accompanying Yakayya running helter-skelter as they saw him being electrocuted. While they managed to protect the child from harm, they failed to save Yakayya, who died at the scene.

His sudden death has left the entire village in mourning and his family is devastated by the loss.

Yakayya’s family claims that the accident was caused by the negligence of the organizers responsible for the festival decorations.

Villagers are now calling for support for Yakayya’s grieving family and calling on authorities to take action against those responsible for improper installation of electrical equipment.

Bathukamma festival, celebrated with great enthusiasm across Telangana, is a flower festival in honor of Goddess Gauri. The nine-day celebration takes place during Durga Navratri and involves women creating intricate floral arrangements called bathukammas, which they carry to bodies of water and sing and dance in praise of the goddess. The festival symbolizes the importance of nature, flowers and the role of women in the cultural fabric of the state.

However, this year’s celebrations were marred by tragedy, turning what should have been a joyous occasion into a time of mourning.
