BBC’s “Question Time” stops in Philadelphia ahead of the presidential election

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – The BBC’s hit debate show “Question Time” was in Philadelphia to talk about all things election-related ahead of November 5th. They broadcast from the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

“This is an incredibly important election and it also looks very close. The outcome is uncertain,” said Fiona Bruce, the show’s host.

“The US is the world superpower and people in the UK are very interested in what is happening here,” she said.

“Question Time” features a live audience and panelists with opposing views.

Typically the shows are recorded in various locations around the UK

But this time they made a special stop Pennsylvania, a battleground statefor their USA election special.

The opinions and questions kept the show moving and the audience loved delving into a wide range of topics related to economics, immigration and foreign policy.

“It was very informative and very bipartisan,” said Linwood Holland, a Northeast Philadelphia native. “People have treated each other with respect, and that’s something we need more of in this election.”

“I’m a regular viewer of the British broadcasts, so I was looking forward to seeing it in the U.S. just to be in the audience,” said John Dunn of Delaware.

When it comes to Britain interfering in American politics, the result is felt around the world, Bruce said.

“What’s happening here is important not just to the UK but across the world and that’s why we wanted to come and find out about it,” she said.
