AEW’s Britt Baker provides update on her condition following illness and hurricane scare

Due to a combination of illness and the effects of Hurricane Milton, Britt Baker was unable to make it to the Title Tuesday edition of AEW Dynamite on October 8th. However, it appears that the former AEW Women’s World Champion is in high spirits as she recently turned to X (formerly known as Twitter) to provide an update on her condition.

Baker first thanked fans for their “get well soon” messages before revealing that she had been suffering from strep throat, as evidenced by the fact that she had apparently lost her voice.

“I sound a lot worse than I actually feel,” Baker said. “I’m feeling much better now. Two days ago I was dying, but now we’re fine… I’m on the mend.”

Since Baker lives in Orlando, Florida, she also revealed that she struggled with the effects of Hurricane Milton and advised anyone living in a storm-prone area to stock up on supplies.

“I messed up,” Baker admitted. “I didn’t think I would be here, I was supposed to be in Washington on ‘Dynamite,’ so I was like, ‘I’m fine.’ No. I got strep throat, I’m stuck in Orlando, and when I realized there was no gas, no water, no necessities, everything was gone. So stock up in advance, don’t be a fool like me.”

Before her plans changed, Baker was scheduled to wrestle Willow Nightingale for a shot at Mariah May’s AEW Women’s World Championship at WrestleDream on October 12. This match was changed to a four-way match between Nightingale, Jamie Hayter, Saraya and Nyla Rose. which Nightingale won in the end. Baker concluded her video with a message to anyone who thought there might be a reason for her absence other than the one announced.

“All you crazy people with your damn conspiracy theories, damn you,” she concluded.
