Where to watch the New York Liberty Finals in New York City

Where to watch the New York Liberty Finals in New York City

It’s a big season for New York sports! Both the Yankees and Mets have made it to the MLB playoffs and the New York Liberty are back in the WNBA Finals for the second straight year. This time the basketball team takes on the Minnesota Lynx as the Brooklyn-based team competes for its first-ever championship title.

The Best of Five series begins Thursday, October 10th at 8 p.m. at Barclays Center. But for those without stadium tickets, there are a growing number of places to watch women’s sports in New York City.

Here you can cheer on the Liberty with local fans:

Hutch Astoria

Partnering with local pop-up Dave’s Lesbian Bar, this Astoria bar will show the WNBA Finals and offer $6 drinks after a tip. Bar snacks, fancy cocktails and plenty of beer are also available.

Fulton Hall

Just a few blocks from Barclays, this popular pre- and post-game gathering spot in Fort Greene is showing the finale. There’s an extensive selection of beers, including seasonal specials including local favorites like Blue Point’s Mother Pumpkin Ale and Catskills Brewery’s Barkaboom Oktoberfest, as well as a full menu of bar snacks and entrees.

Ginger’s Bar

Park Slope’s famous lesbian bar will broadcast the game live. The back yard is open for those needing some fresh air and takeout is welcome.

Mary’s Bar

This queer bar in Greenpoint, the sister bar of Ginger’s, also hosts the New York Liberty games in a cozy setting.

Blue Haven South

After a series of watch parties at New York Liberty and Gotham this summer, the FiDi sports bar is eager to show the Finals and other New York sporting events simultaneously thanks to multiple screens.

Fool’s gold

Head to Houston St. for a double-header watch party in SoHo. That means Fool’s Good is celebrating Thirsty Thursday with Yankees and New York Liberty games. Both games will be broadcast on 10 televisions and in the wing. There are beer and shot specials throughout the evening.

Tiny’s Cantina

Just blocks from the Barclays Center in Prospect Heights, this Mexican restaurant offers the game along with frozen cocktails, fajitas, different types of guacamole, and more.

Clara’s

Billed as “The OG place to be for all sports in Bushwick,” this Brooklyn bar will have other screens showing the WNBA Finals as well as several New York City sports games. The neighborhood spot is a popular stop for fried pickles, buffalo chicken quesadillas, jalapeno poppers, various types of wings and fries, and more.

Alta Calidad

Although there are no televisions, the modern Mexican restaurant Prospect Heights is supporting Liberty fans by offering anyone with game tickets a free mini margarita if they stop by for a bite before the game.
