Bullard shooting kills mother, two children ruled murder-suicide

BULLARD, Texas (KLTV) – A September incident that left three people dead by shooting in Bullard is now being called a murder-suicide.

According to a press release from Bullard PD on Thursday, 25-year-old Tatyanna Smith is now believed to have killed Madilynn Evans, 4, and Maison Evans, 2, before killing herself. Lyric Minter, 8 months old, was also injured in the shooting; The statement said she has been released from the hospital and is with her family. Smith was the mother of all three children.

According to the news release, “Investigators have determined that no other individuals were involved and the case is being reclassified as an isolated case of double murder/suicide.” The shooting occurred at a home in the 500 block of Guinn Street in Bullard.

Bullard PD thanked the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, Smith County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit, Smith County District Attorney’s Office, Bullard Independent School District Police Department, Texas Department of Public Safety, Texas Game Warden, First Baptist Church of Bullard and the Emergency Response Ministry for assistance in this case.
