Shooting near a Dallas school led to its closure

A school in Dallas’ East Oak Cliff neighborhood was placed on lockdown Thursday afternoon because of a shooting nearby.

It happened around noon near KIPP Truth Elementary and KIPP Truth Academy.

Police said a car drove by and fired several shots at two young men walking along S. Ewing Avenue. They weren’t hurt.

At the time, some students were outside of school. They were running inside and were not injured.

The school was sealed off as a precaution.

Images from SKY 4 showed police photographing numerous pieces of evidence on the street.

So far there have been no arrests.

There is also no information about the motive for the shooting.
