Person involved in fatal Taylor Street stabbing also faces drug and vandalism charges

The person involved in the fatal stabbing on Taylor Street in Lynchburg will not face charges for that incident, but police say he faces drug and vandalism charges.

On the morning of Oct. 8, Lynchburg police said the body of 65-year-old Clifford Carter was found stabbed to death. That was around 6:50 a.m., but LPD said it wasn’t the only incident in the area reported in the early morning hours.

Police said officers were dispatched at 4:44 a.m. to a disturbance call on 16th Street where someone reported a man causing damage to his home. Police arrested the man at 5:22 a.m. after officers found him on Fillmore Street; he was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. Police later said he was also a person involved in Carter’s death.
