Funeral for 2-month-old boy who police say was killed by mother’s boyfriend

MADISONVILLE, Ky. (WFIE/Gray News) – The funeral of a 2-month-old boy who police say was murdered will be held Friday.

An obituary for Ayden Sing said he loved smiling, being held by his mother and loving his pacifier.

He leaves behind several family members.

Police have charged 22-year-old Anthony Paige in connection with the child’s death.

Officers searched an apartment on Couch Street on Oct. 2 for a baby who was reportedly not breathing.

After investigating, officers learned that the only adults in the home were Paige and the baby’s aunt. Ayden’s mother was working at the time.

Other children were also in the home.

Police said the baby was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center but unfortunately died there on October 5th.

“Nothing was particularly obvious back then. So we didn’t really know anything until the medical examiner in Tennessee had a chance to do an autopsy and that’s where we got our more serious information,” said Major Jason McKnight of the Madisonville Police Department.

The coroner reported bleeding from the brain and optic nerve, blood in the infant’s ear and bruising to the back of the head.

Police said the baby died from blunt force trauma.

Paige was then arrested on Monday after police said their investigation led them to believe he killed the child.

Ayden’s funeral is scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m. at Elliott-Bowles Mortuary in Madisonville, Kentucky.

Visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral and his burial will take place after the service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
