APD is releasing details about a fatal dog attack that left a man dead on Wednesday

ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) — Police are investigating a fatal dog attack in Albany.

According to police, officers responded to the 500 block of Central Avenue shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday evening after reports that a man had been attacked by multiple dogs. When they arrived, they saw the dogs attacking the man. One of the officers fired a gun to stop the attack, hitting at least one dog.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are withholding his name pending proper notification. However, police are expected to release more details on Thursday afternoon.
