Shenandoah County teen in custody after attempted assault

SHENANDOAH COUNTY, Va. (NOW ROCKTOWN) – A Shenandoah County teenager was taken into custody following an incident at a school Wednesday.

According to a post on the Shenandoah County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, officers responded to an attempted assault on a suspected 16-year-old girl from Edinburg.

Law enforcement and school administrators were able to prevent the attack.

However, police officers and school staff were attacked during the incident.

The girl was charged with assault and battery on a police officer and a school official. She was taken into custody and taken to the Woodstock Juvenile Detention Center for a hearing.
