Kate Middleton meets Southport stabbing victims during first community visit since ending cancer treatment

The Prince and Princess of Wales met victims and emergency responders of the knife attacks in Southport during a visit. This was the couple’s first public appearance together since Kate’s cancer treatment ended.

Kate met privately with the relatives of some of the stabbing victims before greeting emergency workers on camera.


She and William had traveled to Merseyside together – and it was another breakthrough for the princess, with the trip marking her first official royal engagement outside of London since her diagnosis earlier this year.

The couple shook hands and thanked local paramedics who rushed to the scene of the shocking attacks on July 29 this year.

The couple met the families of Bebe King, six, Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, and Alice Dasilva Aguiar, nine, who were all fatally stabbed during a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport – as well as the children’s dance teacher.

After spending about an hour and a half with the bereaved families, the Waleses went to the Southport Community Center where they joined emergency responders involved in the attack to hear about their experiences.

Kate and William also met doctors who support the Blue Light community in Southport.

Kate wore a long brown coat and high heels with her hair down – and looked serious as she spoke to Merseyside’s Deputy Lord Lieutenant Peter Oliver, who welcomed the couple to the city.

The couple drank together with representatives from all emergency services

Then, a few weeks later, she stood out again when she presented Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz with the final Wimbledon men’s trophy.

The Princess, patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, was accompanied by her daughter Princess Charlotte – and was seen chatting to ball boys and girls before making her way to Center Court to thunderous applause.

Since then, Kate has attended church in Balmoral with William and the King and Queen, privately attended a “moving” ballet performance at Sadler’s Wells Theater in central London and met with aides to plan her annual carol service in December.

It is understood the princess hopes to join the royal family at the annual Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph on November 10.
