Dogs fatally attack a man behind a building in New York

ALBANY, NY – A man was fatally attacked by multiple dogs in Albany, police said Thursday.

When officers were on scene around 6 p.m. on Wednesday, they discovered several pit bulls attacking the man behind a building. One of the officers fired his weapon to stop the attack, hitting at least one dog, according to a statement from Albany police and a department spokeswoman.

According to authorities, the man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said all dogs were accounted for and were being placed in appropriate facilities.

Police said the investigation was continuing and had not released any further information Thursday morning.
