Massachusetts police officer charged with rape of child after confessing to colleague about ‘intimate relationship’ with teenage girl: DA

A former Massachusetts police officer has been charged with child rape and child pornography in connection with an alleged sexual relationship he had with a 15-year-old girl.

Prosecutors say 35-year-old Alexander Allen told another officer that he had a sexual relationship with the minor last year, sparking an investigation by the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office and Billerica police.

The investigation revealed that Allen first met the victim when she was 14 years old. Two months before her 16th birthday in 2021, Allen allegedly drove her home after picking her up from an appointment, after which he engaged in sexual relations with the teenager.

Prosecutors also say the victim sent Allen a nude photo of herself at his request.

“If proven, the allegations against Allen are deeply disturbing and represent a betrayal of the oath police officers have sworn to protect the innocent and serve the public with integrity,” Billerica Police Chief Roy Frost said in a statement . “There is no place in the Billerica Police Department for the abhorrent conduct alleged in this case,” Frost said.

After the internal investigation began, Allen was placed on administrative leave in December 2023. He resigned about two weeks later.

On October 3, he was indicted by a grand jury on charges of aggravated rape of a child 10 years apart and possession of child pornography.

His arraignment is scheduled for Oct. 25 in Middlesex Superior Court.
