Travelers hoping for a chance to set a Guinness World Record have even more options when they cruise with MSC Cruises.

In March 2023, the company launched its new Guinness World Records entertainment program on two ships, MSC Seascape and MSC World Europa. It proved so popular that the shipping company expanded it to 10 additional ships.

Now MSC Cruises is rolling out the program across its entire fleet. It will be available on all of the shipping company’s ships by the end of the year.

“To date, MSC Cruises guests and crew have broken 30 Guinness World Records,” said Steve Leatham, vice president of entertainment for MSC Cruises. “From being the fastest to pull 100 meters of rope (roughly the length of a football field), to being the fastest to complete 20 chair revolutions in under 21 seconds, to being able to put the most socks on one foot in under 30 Seconds – the guests achieved record-breaking fame in a variety of bizarre ways.”

During the day, travelers can take part in record-breaking activities that double as auditions for a main evening show. If they succeed, they can showcase their talent and try to become record holders.

The records are verified by an official judge from Guinness World Records. Anyone who officially breaks a record receives a certificate and bragging rights.

“Guinness World Records is an example of the type of successful activities we offer on MSC Cruises ships that appeal to the whole family,” says Matteo Mancini, the brand’s senior manager of family entertainment. “It’s heartwarming to see all ages come together to compete and play. Anyone can be a star on our ships and Guinness World Records is now not just in the book or on the TV show, but has become an essential live experience on board for everyone.”
