A Kansas pilot, Randall Dean McFarland, escaped uninjured after his single-engine Zodiac 601 plane landed in Butler County on Wednesday.

The 68-year-old Augusta resident was flying a 2016 single-engine fixed-wing Zodiac when it landed on a private airstrip near southwest Santa Fe Lake Road. The plane veered off the runway and crashed into a fence.

The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the incident but has not released further details.
