Man charged with fatal stabbing of Wendy’s co-worker appears in court for the first time

NANAKULI (HawaiiNewsNow) – The man charged in the fatal stabbing of a Wendy’s employee in Nanakuli over the weekend made his first court appearance Wednesday.

Reynaldo Cheney, 60, is charged with murder and attempted murder for stabbing 22-year-old Kashka Otto and wounding another Wendy’s employee in Nanakuli on Sunday.

Witnesses said Cheney made a derogatory remark to Otto, who then turned off and challenged Cheney to a fight outside.

Otto allegedly punched Cheney before Cheney stabbed him and a Wendy’s manager who tried to break up the fight.

Cheney is due back in court on Friday.
