Man arrested in connection with shooting at New York mall

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (WRGB) – Guilderland police say they have arrested a man suspected of firing a shot at Crossgates Mall on Saturday.

According to police, 20-year-old Tasheem Maeweather of Albany, New York, was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal possession of a weapon, both felonies.

According to Guilderland police, the suspect was selected from a group by a witness. According to investigators, a shot was fired during an argument between Maeweather and another person. No casualties were reported.

Maeweather was arraigned on Monday. He pleaded not guilty and was sent back to the Albany County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to appear in court again on Friday.

Albany police say Maeweather has a criminal history.
