Bellingham man sentenced to prison for child sexual abuse

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Bellingham man convicted of sexually assaulting a family member has been sentenced.

Iran Ohumukini, 57, was sentenced on October 4 to over 15.5 years in prison. In July, he pleaded guilty to child molestation and two counts of child rape.

The victim reported the abuse to investigators in June 2022 and said the attacks had been going on for several years.

Following his conviction, he will be under community supervision for three years and must register as a sex offender.

He was transferred from the Whatcom County Jail to a Washington State Department of Corrections facility on Tuesday, October 8.
