A Lafayette man is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a woman during domestic violence incidents from November to December 2023.

Brayan Ariel Ramirez-Sho, 22, was charged Tuesday with sexual assault, third-degree assault and harassment.

He was released on $25,000 bail and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 31, according to court records.

According to an affidavit, a woman told Lafayette police on April 3 that she wanted to get an order of protection against Ramirez-Sho.

In an interview with police, the woman said Ramirez-Sho was “verbally disrespectful and also physically aggressive” toward her.

On April 8, police discovered an image of a semicircular bruise that officers believed was consistent with a bite mark.

The woman told officers in an interview that Ramirez-Sho used to bite her arms and thighs, leaving bruises. When she cried then, he would laugh and say, “I’m marking my territory.”

She also said Ramirez-Sho forced her to have sex even though she didn’t want to, the affidavit said. Specifically, when she told him that she didn’t want to have sex and was stopping because she was too tired, Ramirez-Sho “forcibly grabbed her arms, ignored her protests, and forced her…to have sex.”

According to the affidavit, the woman said Ramirez-Sho forced her to have sex with him on three separate occasions at his Lafayette apartment in November and December 2023.

She also said Ramirez-Sho would hit her “out of nowhere” and would do so while saying he was “playing with her,” the affidavit said.

He later confirmed the allegations via text message, saying: “I know I didn’t force anyone. Let’s see who loses. If you think you’re going to send me to the police, you’re wrong,” the affidavit said.
