Goleta man sentenced to 30 years in prison for child sexual abuse

A 62-year-old Goleta man was sentenced Wednesday to 300 years in prison for sexually abusing two girls over four years. Cirilo Martinez was convicted of twelve counts.

Martinez lived with his sister, who looked after the two girls. The abuse began when the girls were between 4 and 9 years old and lasted four years.

At age 9, the younger victim told her therapist about the abuse.

During the investigation, Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office detectives were able to get Martinez to confess to his crimes.

The two victims, now 12 and 14 years old, confronted their perpetrator during the trial.
