Blitz Review | Steve McQueen’s explosive World War II drama falls flat

Steve McQueen is back in the director’s chair for an alternately gripping and cliche-filled World War II drama. Here is our lightning review.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t Jason Statham’s 2011 cop-versus-killer-cop vehicle of the same name, as these two films couldn’t be more different. If video rentals still existed, we would see a lot of very confused fans from both camps.

However, parts of Blitz (2024) are just as exciting as watching the Stath chase after a London-based serial killer, if such a thing can be imagined.
