Man arrested, accused of killing 18-year-old in shooting on Dixie Highway

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – A man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting on Dixie Highway in Septemberaccording to the Louisville Metro Police Department.

According to police, 18-year-old William Irvin was arrested on murder charges around 4:15 p.m. after a foot pursuit in the 1400 block of Dixie Highway.

On September 13th at approximately 2:40 p.m., officers were called to the 1600 block of Dixie Highway at the intersection of Gaulbert Avenue for a shooting. They determined that the victim had died at the scene.

The Jefferson County Coroner identified the victim as 18-year-old Jerrick Young.

Irvin was arraigned at LMDC and charged with murder. He is expected to appear in court on Thursday morning.
