Israel has canceled a planned meeting between its Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, the Pentagon confirmed on October 8. Austin was scheduled to meet with his Israeli counterpart at the Pentagon on October 9 as the US ally debated how to respond to Iran’s attack last week. Gallant was also scheduled to meet with White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
