Man charged with child torture and sexual abuse while in custody in Alabama

MOBILE, Ala. (KATU) — A man accused of torture and sexual abuse of children is behind bars tonight.

Adam Renk turned himself in to authorities in Mobile, Alabama on Monday, October 8th.

He was denied bail at a hearing this morning and remains in jail.

Renk was wanted in both Oregon and Alabama for sexual abuse of minors.

In Alabama, he is also accused of locking an 11-year-old child in a so-called “torture room.”

The Wasco County District Attorney’s Office says it is working to have Renk transported back to Oregon so he can face charges when his case in Alabama is complete.

It’s not clear how long that might take.
