Woodbury police officer released from hospital after being attacked during a traffic stop

WOODBURY, CT (WFSB) – The Woodbury police officer who was stabbed during a traffic stop last Thursday has been released from the hospital.

“The Woodbury Resident Trooper Office would like to thank everyone who contacted, reached out and sent cards/donations to Officer Wright following Thursday’s incident. Officer Wright is now home, recovering from his injuries and in good spirits. “It has been overwhelming to see the support we have received from the community,” the Woodbury Resident Trooper’s Office said in a post on its Facebook page.

Tyler Wilmot, 31, stabbed Wright after he was stopped on North Main Street.

He faces multiple charges and appeared in court last week.
