An investigation into an assault and shooting is underway in Paris

PARIS, Texas (KXII) – An assault and shooting investigation is underway in Paris.

Paris police said it started when a group of what appeared to be teenagers threw tomato sauce at a man on Tuesday evening.

A police report said this led to the man pulling out a slingshot and rocks for his protection.

The group scattered, but one of the teens pulled out a gun and fired four shots.

According to police, a vehicle was hit, but no one was injured.

He is being investigated for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
