19-year-old charged with repeated sexual assaults on young teenagers

A 19-year-old man has been accused of repeatedly sexually abusing a young teenager in Bergen County.

Juan S. Flores-Mejia of Bogota was arrested Friday after being accused of sexually abusing the child multiple times, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office said in a statement. He is accused of four counts of sexual assault and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Bogota police contacted the district attorney’s office on October 1 and reported the alleged assaults. The alleged victim was younger than 16, authorities said.

Flores-Mejia is being held at the Bergen County Jail pending his initial court appearance.
