“Mr. Field’s continued ability to practice as a registered nurse (“RN”) in the state of Maine poses an imminent threat to the health and physical safety of the public who may seek his nursing services,” the board said.

Field was working in the emergency room at the Thayer Center for Health when the alleged sexual harassment occurred.

On May 31, a patient came to Thayer’s emergency room with an unspecified trauma.

Thayer reportedly removed blankets from the patient’s hospital bed while the patient lay naked in the hospital’s trauma unit and photographed her body using his personal cell phone without her consent.

Later that summer, between August 11 and 12, Field reportedly struck again.

In the second incident, Field was using an ultrasound machine on another patient when he mentioned that an old patient had once accidentally touched his crotch and told him that he had “a big cock.”

According to the anecdote, he reportedly forced the patient’s hand to his crotch and made her touch his penis through his pants.

He then reportedly pulled part of his penis out of his pants and forced the woman to touch it without her consent before showing her a picture of his entire penis.

Field called the patient from his personal phone the day after the incident.

MaineGeneral Health fired Field on September 9 after receiving reports that he had photographed a naked trauma patient.

Two days later, the hospital reported Field to the Board of Nursing. The board then launched an investigation and imposed an interim suspension on September 26th, which was set to expire on October 26th.

The Board will impose further disciplinary action if its investigation proves the allegations to be true.

It is unclear whether Field will face criminal charges for his alleged sexual misconduct.
