News 6 investigates Sarasota ahead of Hurricane Milton. Here’s a look

SARASOTA, Fla. – As Hurricane Milton approaches Florida’s Gulf Coast, News 6 reporter Erik Von Ancken contacted Marina Jack in Sarasota to survey the area.

Thanks to the supercells formed during Milton’s approach, tornado and flash flood warnings were issued throughout the region.

Milton is expected to make landfall late Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning and then move across the Atlantic Ocean off the east coast of Florida on Thursday morning or afternoon. As Milton moves inland, the storm is expected to grow in size and increase the range of its strongest winds.
