Illinois man dies in paragliding accident in Utah County

LEHI — A 56-year-old Illinois man died in a paragliding accident in Utah County on Sunday, police said.

According to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 10:20 a.m. at Flight Park State Recreation Area on the south side of Point of the Mountain

The victim was flown by helicopter to an area hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The police did not want to say why the paraglider crashed.

The victim was identified as David Gest of New Lenox, Illinois.
