Emma Ronsiek is one to watch in Hammon Mid-Major POTY – Mountain West Conference

FORT COLLINS – The excitement was real when Emma Ronsiek made the decision to join her sister Hannah for her final season on the Colorado State women’s basketball team. That excitement continues to grow as the forward has been named to the 25-player watch list for the 2025 Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year award, the committee announced Wednesday.

Ronsiek, a transfer from Creighton, was one of the top players in the BIG EAST during the 2023-24 season, averaging 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.2 blocks per game in her senior season. Ronsiek has averaged more than 13 points per game in each of her past three seasons and has a career average of 14.1 points per game.

The Sioux Falls, SD native earned All-BIG EAST First Team honors twice in her four-year career with the Bluejays and will lead Colorado State in its quest to return to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2016. Ronsiek, the alien to the tournament itself, led Creighton to three appearances in the dance, including a trip to the Sweet 16 in 2022.

A seasoned NCAA Division I veteran, Ronsiek has started 109 of her 115 games played and helped Creighton win 81 games during her four years with the program. Ronsiek scored 1,622 points over the course of her college career, scoring in double figures in 79 games and scoring 20 or more points on 28 occasions.

A threat to score from anywhere on the field, Ronsiek displays all-round efficiency with a career field goal percentage of 47.1 and a 3-point percentage of 35.3. Ronsiek is also one of the best foul shooters in the country, hitting 89.1 percent of her 137 attempts last season to lead the BIG EAST and finish 12th in the country.

Ronsiek and the Rams will open the season with a home game against Regis on October 29th before starting the regular season against San Francisco on November 4th at Moby Arena. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at CSURams.com.
