Sioux City man is charged with murder after police received reports of a motorcycle accident

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) – What was initially reported as a motorcycle accident in Sioux City turned into a murder investigation in which one man has since been arrested.

According to Sioux City police, 33-year-old Michael P. White Thunder of Sioux City has been charged with second-degree murder.

On Monday, September 2nd, at approximately 8:40 p.m., Sioux City Police received a report of a motorcycle accident near the intersection of W. 20th and Rebecca Street.

When police got there, they found a man with a head injury. That man was identified as 65-year-old Bret B. Siebold of Sioux City and was taken to a local hospital before being transported to a hospital in Omaha.

Siebold died from his injuries a few days later, on September 8th.

Upon investigating this incident, police determined that it was not a motorcycle accident.

According to police, an argument broke out between two people shortly before the authorities called. A witness told police he saw something thrown at Siebold’s head while he was on the motorcycle and saw Siebold fall to the ground.

On Wednesday, October 9, police arrested White Thunder for Siebold’s murder and he was booked into the Woodbury County Jail.
