Judge upholds involuntary manslaughter conviction in Pennsylvania supermarket shooting

SUNBURY – A Northumberland County judge has upheld the conviction of a Sunbury man found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in a supermarket shooting.

Judge Paige Rosini found in a one-page order on Tuesday that the evidence supported the verdict against Ajani Munsh-Ousha Uhuru, 26. She also defended her sentence of 7 to 15 years in state prison.

Uhuru was found guilty of killing 30-year-old Kareem Jakes on May 19, 2022, at the Penn Jersey Mart in the 200 block of North Third Street in Sunbury. The shooting was captured on video.
