Macau-based gaming products distributor Asia Pioneer Entertainment Holdings Limited (APE) has appointed Maria Garcia to its board of directors, effective September 30, 2024. Garcia’s appointment makes her the company’s first female director since its listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2017.

A long-standing part of APE’s history, Garcia first joined the Corporate Sales and Marketing department in 2006 as a Sales Manager, where she worked for six years before moving on to take on various roles in the gaming industry and start her own company found. In 2020, she returned to APE as a business consultant and in December 2022 resumed her role as Sales Manager for Macau and Southeast Asia, where she oversaw the company’s growth and development in both the Macau and Southeast Asia markets.

“We are pleased to welcome Maria to the Board,” said Herman Ng, CEO and Executive Director of APE. “I have had the pleasure of working with her for over a decade. She is an industry expert with extensive knowledge, experience and a wide network of connections. I am confident she will excel in this role.”

Garcia added, “It is a true honor to join APE’s Board of Directors as the first female director. The last few years have been challenging for the company, particularly due to the impact of the global pandemic. I am proud of our resilience and the progress we have made together during these times. In my new role, I am committed to leveraging my strengths to tackle future opportunities and challenges together with APE and work towards a bright and successful future.”
