Natural gas-fired electricity in the USA reached a new record level in the summer of 2024

Hardly a day goes by when we don’t report at least one story about a gas power plant fueled by Marcellus/Utica molecules (see our energy stories here). As we often emphasize, gas-fired power plants are extremely important customers for MU-Natgas as they consume large quantities of our gas. Yesterday, the US Energy Information Administration (EIA) published a post noting that natural gas-fired electricity generation in the US set new daily records in the summer of 2024, despite all the hype that “renewables” like solar and wind are taking over .
