Police release image of suspected SEPTA bus shooter who injured three people – NBC10 Philadelphia

Philadelphia police have released images of a man police officials believe is responsible for shooting up a SEPTA bus in West Philadelphia on Tuesday afternoon, injuring three women.

On Wednesday morning, officials released images in hopes of locating a man who officials say got into some kind of argument with the driver of a SEPTA Route “G” bus on Tuesday, Oct. 8, around 4:33 p.m. 2024 before exiting the vehicle along the 700 block of South 57th Street in West Philadelphia.

Shortly after the man got off the bus, police say he turned around and fired four times, hitting three innocent bystanders on the bus.

Police described the suspected shooter as a man of medium build with a medium brown complexion and shoulder-length dreadlocks, wearing a black Under Armor zip-up jacket and white T-shirt, black pants, gray sneakers and a blue surgical mask at the time of the shooting.

Officials said three women were injured in the incident.

These people included:

  • A 29-year-old woman who was shot once in the right buttock,
  • A 60-year-old woman who suffered an abrasion to the right side of her head,
  • A 56-year-old woman was shot once in the lower back.

All three victims are in stable condition after being hospitalized following this incident, officials said.

According to the police, there have been no arrests or weapons so far.

This is the second shooting on a SEPTA bus in less than a week.

On Friday, October 4, 2024, a teenager on a SEPTA bus with approximately 30 people on board was shot in the face when a gunman opened fire on the vehicle as it traveled on Fairhill Street at Allegheny Avenue.

Police officials said the person suspected in this incident was considered armed and dangerous.
