Authorities are holding the Level 3 sex offender on $50,000 bail.

A Boston man allegedly sexually assaulted a doctor during an exam at a Mass General Hospital clinic last week.

Christopher Fisher, 58, was charged Monday in Chelsea District Court with two counts of indecent exposure, two counts of open and gross indecency, assault, indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14, and possession of a Class E substance, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office .

Judge Matthew Machera ordered Fisher to pay $50,000 bail and be placed on GPS monitoring if he is released. The judge also ordered that Fisher stay away from MGH and undergo a mental health evaluation.

Fisher is due in court for a preliminary hearing on October 31.

According to prosecutors, Fisher is a registered Level 3 sex offender with a 19-page probation record, including multiple convictions for open and gross lewdness and lascivious behavior.

On Friday, October 4, MGH Police notified Chelsea Police of a sexual assault that allegedly occurred at the MGH Healthcare Center on Everett Avenue.

According to authorities, Fisher had asked to be examined by a female doctor and said “he was concerned about a rash on and around his genitals and bleeding due to possible hemorrhoids.”

The DA’s office reports that after an initial assessment, the doctor asked Fisher to change into a hospital gown for further examination. In accordance with MGH guidelines regarding these examinations, the physician performed the examination in the presence of a medical assistant.

The doctor reportedly told Fisher that she did not observe any rashes and noticed that Fisher became agitated. Officials said Fisher then asked the doctor to further examine his genitals because he had additional concerns.

During the examination, Fisher insisted he was suffering from a rash when he grabbed his erect penis and said: “Look! Check it out! There is something there,” said the prosecutor.

“The doctor observed Fisher moving his hand up and down, turning his body toward her and attempting to ejaculate on her,” prosecutors say. “The doctor pulled up the hospital gown to create a barrier between her and Fisher.”

Police met with the doctor and assistant, who corroborated the doctor’s statements and “provided officers with a bag containing the hospital gown and a seat cover containing Fisher’s bodily fluids,” authorities say.

During a search, police also found a plastic bag stuffed into Fisher’s sock filled with 17.5 white oval pills.

“Incidents like this illustrate how unpredictable a call or interaction can be for healthcare workers and first responders,” Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden said in a statement. “I am very sorry for what these women saw while simply trying to do their jobs.”
