Oak Island man charged with multiple child sex crimes

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – An Oak Island man is in custody after being accused of multiple sex crimes involving a child, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the warrant, 64-year-old David Neal Cox was charged with three counts of indecent liberties with a child and two counts of statutory sexual offenses against a child by an adult.

Cox is accused of engaging in sexual acts with a child between the ages of 8 and 9 in 2022.

He is being held under a $500,000 bond, according to online jail records.
