2 men break into store in New Hyde Park and attack 75-year-old Witness: PD

NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y. — Two Brooklyn men were arrested after Nassau police said they attacked an elderly man while breaking into a motorsports store in New Hyde Park in August.

Tristan Livingston, 27, and Justin St. Hill, 27, joined Gold Coast Motorsports in 2070
Jericho Turnpike about 4:25 a.m. Aug. 13, police said. The duo stole five motorcycles worth about $125,000, police said.

During the burglary, a 75-year-old man was walking his dog and saw Livingston and St. Hill break into the store, police said. The duo attacked the man, threatened and tied him up and prevented him from leaving, police said. The man eventually escaped after a lengthy struggle with St. Hill and Livingston, police said.

St. Hill and Livingston were found and arrested Tuesday at their home in Brooklyn by the Nassau County Police Department’s Major Case Squad along with members of the New York and New Jersey U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, police said.

Both men were charged with one count of second-degree burglary, one count of second-degree kidnapping and two counts of second-degree assault.

They were arraigned Tuesday in First District Court, 99 Main St., Hempstead.

Livingston has been arrested in the past, including for criminal possession of a weapon and forgery, the department said.

St. Hill’s previous arrests include charges of third-degree burglary, grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, according to police.
