A multi-vehicle accident on Highway 160 sends one to the hospital

According to first responders, one person was transported to Desert View Hospital following a multi-vehicle crash along the 1300 block of South Highway 160, where one vehicle left the roadway and struck additional parked vehicles.

Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Department Chief Scott Lewis told the Pahrump Valley Times that the collision occurred on Friday, Oct. 4, around 8 p.m

The call was originally reported as a vehicle-versus-construction skirmish, which was unfounded, Lewis said.

Driver released

“On arrival a vehicle was on its side and the driver was trapped. However, emergency responders found four other vehicles in the Nevada State Bank parking lot, where a pickup truck was left on its side after colliding with a “commercial transport truck,” he said.

Lewis went on to say that the only occupant in the truck was mechanically trapped.

“Once the command was established, responders extricated the driver without incident and determined that no one else wanted to be medically evaluated or transported,” Lewis noted. “The only person trapped was transported to Desert View Hospital.”

The exact cause of the accident is currently being investigated by the fire department and the Nevada Highway Patrol.
