Tragic murder in Trinidad: Man kills wife and daughter after receiving protection order

Trinidad and Tobago: In a shocking incident 31-year-old Rishi Mootilal murdered his estranged wife, 34-year-old Tara Geeta Ramsaroop, and their one-year-old baby girl Jada. The victims were killed at Mootilal’s house in Rigg Road, Barrackpore. Ramsaroop lived on GP Road in Barrackpore, Trinidad.

The police arrested the suspect in connection with this Murder of his wife and daughterwho was a toddler.

It is said that police officials served Mootilal with a protection order against Ramsaroop on Monday, following which he committed the tragic crime around 11 am on Tuesday.

Officials revealed that the couple had two children together, but their relationship was currently not good as Tara was a victim of domestic violence.

The suspect killed the victims by slitting their throats and planned to go to another school to have the second child as well, but failed.

The older son’s elementary school was placed on lockdown after the nearby school learned that Mootilal was on his way to pick the boy up from class.

After the incident, the victim’s relatives revealed that the suspect came home after drinking rum and then beat Ramsaroop. The abuse had reportedly been going on for years.

They also said that Rishi Mootilal was possessive and never allowed Tara Ramsaroop to go anywhere but the victim’s sister helped her get a job but the abuse became worse.

Eventually Ramsaroop left him, built a house and lived alone. According to her sister Jassodra Rajaram, Ramsaroop filed multiple police reports.

The sister was seen bursting into tears outside the apartment building where the crime took place. She also revealed that the suspect broke into her house just last week and took about $4,000, but she never came forward because the police had previously failed her several times when she had asked them for help.

“She stopped sending them to him seven months ago. He threatened to kill her, her child and himself.” the siter claimed, adding that what the suspect did was terrible and she wanted to protect the older child now.
