In the video, Horton can be seen running around frantically and repeatedly screaming, “Save me! Help me, kill me.” He is naked, wearing only his boxers, and tries to get through the owner’s door before sitting down and saying, “I love you.” Most of his actions are uncontrollable and spiral.

The homeowner’s wife, who had just left for work, received multiple alerts from her Ring doorbell camera and immediately called 911. The spouse heard the noise outside and attempted to communicate with Horton through the door.
Horton stormed violently into the apartment as the door cracked, throwing the homeowner to the ground. According to the sheriff’s report, the homeowner, fearing for his life, shot Horton once, seriously injuring him.

Authorities provided censored video footage of the incident to provide greater clarity about the incident, withholding portions containing sensitive content, such as the sound of the fatal shot.
Investigators are working closely to resolve the pending case, which could take months. According to authorities, Horton may have had one Mental health episode or were under the influence of drugs when the incident occurred.
