Arrested for sexual assault

RADFORD – On Friday, October 4, the Radford City Police Department arrested Bryant Sylvester Weaver in connection with a sexual assault investigation reported on October 2, 2024.

It was reported that the victim was providing cleaning service to an apartment in the 200 block of Forest Avenue on the afternoon of October 1 when the attack occurred.

Through further investigation, the suspect was identified as Weaver. It was discovered that numerous crimes had been committed, which subsequently led to Weaver’s arrest.

Weaver has been charged with the following and is currently being held without bail at the New River Valley Regional Jail.

The charges include: 5 counts of strangulation, distribution of Schedule I/II, 2 counts of forcible sodomy, attempted rape, kidnapping with intent to defile, assault and battery.
