Two people were arrested after a shooting during a youth soccer game

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Ocala police officers have arrested two people in connection with a shooting during a youth football game over the weekend.

Authorities arrested Ewonye Pinkney, 18, and Kayla Jarrell, 19, on Monday.

They say Jarrell was driving a vehicle while Pinkney began shooting and struck an innocent bystander in the parking lot at Jervey Gantt Park Saturday night.

The 44-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Both are in the Marion County Jail and are facing charges of aggravated assault.
